Converting Diagnosis Codes to ICD-10

Converting Diagnosis Codes to ICD-10

As of Thursday, October 1, 2015, all claims will be required to use ICD-10 codes. Diagnosis codes WILL NOT automatically convert, you must change them on each patient record.

We added a button called "Convert DSM to ICD10" on the Chart Face above the current diagnosis field. Pushing this button will automatically convert the diagnosis codes and put comments into a clinical message to document the change. Once the clinical message is compiled the new diagnosis codes will carry forward to new notes. Please note that the system may not be able to automatically convert all the codes; in that case the user will be given the option to manually change the codes on a screen with the typical diagnosis entry area. When there there is no more mixing of DSM and ICD10 codes, the user will be able to continue to the clinical message work area and compile the note.

A new button called "Convert DSM to ICD10" has been added at the top of the diagnosis entry popover. Pushing this button will automatically convert each DSM-5 code to ICD-10 if there is an ICD-9 code associated with the DSM-5 code. After conversion a dialog will warn the user if any diagnoses were not converted. As before, the diagnosis entry popover cannot be closed if there is a mix of DSM-5 and ICD10 codes.   Screenshot for Converting Diagnosis Codes to ICD-10           When searching for a diagnosis on either the DSM V By Code or ICD10 By Code tabs of the diagnosis entry popover, if there is no matching diagnosis in our table of codes than the user will be given the option to enter a custom code.
