How to Use the 'Replace Text' Option

If at any time you'd like to replace a word within the narrative portion of your note, the 'replace text' feature will allow you to do so without scrolling through the note and making your changes by hand.

1. On this patient's Interval History, I want to use her first name instead of her last. I click the  button at the top of the field.

 

 

 

2. A popup window shows up asking what to replace and with what. For this example, I want to replace the patient's last name with her first. I want to replace any occurrence of the word or phrase that has a space before and a space, comma, or period after it - so I click the  button.

​

 

 

 

3. If I wanted to replace the word patient with the word client, I would click  because there is no space before and a space, comma, or period after it. 

 

 

 

4. This will replace all of the Ms. Doe with the name Alice in the Interval History section.
