Refresh Medication List as of Past Date

Refresh Medication List as of Past Date

Refresh Medication List as of Past Date

There may be instances where a medication prescribed via DrFirst is no longer active but is still showing as active on the patient’s Chart Face or in a Progress Note. In such cases, customers now have the ability to easily correct the discrepancy. A new “Refresh as of Past Date” button has been added to the Medication Entry screen. Clicking this button opens a popover where the user enters a past date and then clicks the “Refresh as of This Date” button to request an update that would include all relevant data pertaining to that or those medications that aren’t showing accurately.

For example, this patient was previously prescribed Granix and the medication has since been stopped by the provider. It’s still showing as an active medication on the Chart Face

Even though the medication is showing as having been stopped already in DrFirst

To fix, start a new Progress Note and click  to go into the Medication Entry screen

The ‘Refresh as of Past Date’ button is to the right of the listed medications. Hover your mouse over the button to read the accompanying tooltip

Tooltip: In case your discontinuation date is not showing as expected, use this feature and enter the date the medication was discontinued.

Enter the ‘past date’. It can pre-date today’s date and/or the date of the note. Then click Refresh as of This Date

An error message is displayed if the note date is not today’s date, or if the refresh date is blank, or if the entered date is in the future. If there are no errors, then you’ll receive a prompt asking you to confirm you want to retrieve the med list from the date entered.

Click YES to proceed or NO to cancel

After confirming, the mouse and keyboard will be temporarily disabled as medication data is downloaded from DrFirst

Now the Granix has dropped off the active medication list, as expected

Likewise the E-Prescribe Medication List tab has been appropriately updated to reflect the stop date of the Granix

Compile the note once finished. The medication list is now current and no longer displaying the stopped Granix medication

As well as back on the patient’s Chart Face, where the Granix is no longer appearing as an active medication
